I began serving as the Associate Pastor of Kenwood in July of 2015. I am married to Carol and we have five children: McKenzie, Paige, Lauren, Zach and Caleb. I have been in ministry for 17-20 years, depending on when you start counting. I served as an Elder for 10.5 years at my previous church. At Kenwood, my ministry focuses on outreach, assimilation, and discipleship.
I came to know the Lord at the age of 10. I professed faith in Christ on a Wednesday evening during a children’s ministry event and was baptized a few weeks later. My youth group strengthened my faith in later years, and my involvement with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Appalachian State proved to be a decisive time in my spiritual development.
My life verse is John 3:30, “He (Christ) must increase, but I must decrease.” I aim to make much of Christ in all areas, and less of myself. I love to study and preach God’s Word, meet with people one-on-one, and really enjoy rolling up my sleeves and serving alongside others.
When I’m not at church, I’m probably on a baseball field, or driving my kids to one event or another. Occasionally, I manage to cut my grass.
