OUR AMAZING UNIVERSE with Dr. Jennifer Wiseman

Dr. Jennifer Wiseman

Celebrated American Astronomer and Astrophysicist

We invite you to join us as Dr. Jennifer Wiseman talks about how recent advances in astronomy are revealing a dynamic universe filled with massive galaxies, beautiful star-forming nebulae, black holes, and even planetary systems around other stars. The universe also hosts mysteries of dark matter, dark energy, gravitational waves, and the possibility of life beyond earth.

What is the place and significance of human life in this vast, dynamic Cosmos?

About Dr. Jennifer Wiseman
Dr. Wiseman is an astrophysicist who studies the dynamics of stars and planetary systems in galaxies using radio, infrared, and optical telescopes. She is also interested in national science policy and public science engagement and directs the program of Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Religion for the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr. Wiseman studied physics at MIT, where she discovered the comet 114P/Wiseman-Skiff. She then earned a Ph.D. in astronomy at Harvard University and continued her research as a Jansky Fellow at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, and as Hubble Fellow at The Johns Hopkins University. She is a Fellow of the American Scientific Affiliation, a network of Christians in science. Dr. Wiseman enjoys sharing the excitement of astronomy and scientific discovery with public audiences, and has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, NOVA and National Public Radio.
