Christian Medical and Dental Association

CMDA is a national organization whose purpose is to motivate and equip doctors, dentists, and medical students to practice faith in Christ in their personal and professional lives. The University of Cincinnati chapter is dedicated to promoting dialogue on issues related to medicine from a Christian worldview. www.cmda.org

Childhood Food Solutions

CFS attacks childhood food insecurity, focusing on the 45225 zip code area in Cincinnati; including North Fairmount, Millvale, and the Fay Apartments. CFS provides groceries for elementary age children especially during winter/spring breaks and summer vacations. City Gospel Mission

CGM annually serves 116,000 hot and nutritious meals and provides 28,000 nights of safe shelter to homeless and hurting people of Cincinnati. It offers comprehensive men’s and women’s recovery programs, transitional and supportive housing and aftercare. More than 8,000 at-risk youth are impacted through 7 youth programs.

Camp Kirkwood

Located near Wilmington, Ohio, Kirkwood has played host to numerous weekly summer youth camps, weekend retreats, conferences and other events. A week at camp has been a turning point in the lives of children and youth for generations.  www.campkirkwood.net/

City of Deer Park Outreach

Kenwood serves in the community in a variety of ways including partnership with “Deer Park Days in the Park,” tutoring at Amity Elementary school and special events such as “Go Cincinnati.”

FOCAS (Foundation of Compassionate American Samaritans)

FOCAS has three programs in Over-the Rhine which strive to introduce Jesus Christ to adults and children by building relationships. Their three locations provide a safe haven from the street, in addition to gym activities, counseling, prayer, Bible studies for adults and youth, and after school and weekend activities for youth. Scott Bowers, a Kenwood Baptist Church member, is their Director of Development. FOCAS also ministers to rural communities in Haiti through a child school sponsorship program, pastoral training, and building projects. www.focas-us.org/

Healthy Beginnings

Healthy Beginnings has a staff of twenty-eight employees, including six volunteer physicians, seven volunteer midwives, two nurse practitioners, medical assistants, ultrasound technicians, a dietician, a clinical counselor, and administrative staff. They are able to provide medical care to at-risk women within five days of a positive pregnancy test.  Healthybeginnings.org

Freedom in the Wind Church

This young American Baptist church is located in Milford, Ohio. Founded in 2006 by Larry and Jane Herald, who were Kenwood Baptist Church members, and Richard and Aleta Herrera, the church seeks to minister to the biker community in the Tristate area. www.freedominthewind.com

Miami Baptist Association

Miami Baptist Association allows shared ministry with like-minded congregations, supports a student residence (Trinity House) for ministry at UC, and affirms ordinations of pastoral candidates. The Association has helped to start many church plants over the past 100 years, including our own congregation. www.miamibaptistassociation.org

NEEDS (North East Emergency Distribution Services)

This is a cooperative group of churches and civic organizations in our neighborhood, providing food and assistance with housing and utility payments. Kenwood Baptist houses the pantry, open to serve our community on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9AM to 1PM. Kenwood Baptist Church helped start this ministry, and Kenwood Baptist Church member Cindy Cordell, is their current board president, while other Kenwood Baptist Church members volunteer at their desk.

Life Forward - Pregnancy Care of Cincinnati

Life Forward provides a holistic range of services for families experiencing pregnancies in order to affirm the sanctity of life. All services are at no cost. They include: pregnancy tests, parenting classes, mentoring, material support, referrals for ultrasounds and prenatal care, and a 24-hour helpline. www.pregnancycareofcincinnati.com

Teen Challenge

Teen Challenge is a residential facility offering a faith-based solution to drug addiction. Male or female individuals ranging from 18 to 35 years of age go through intensive studies, receive their GED, if necessary, participate in occupational therapy, receive life equipping skills, and job placement opportunities.
