Sunday Morning Adult Classes and Bible Studies

Psalm 23 (9:30am)

Christian Disciples meet in Room 211(Parlor)
The Christian Disciples class theme for the summer is “The Lord Is My Shepherd.” We will be utilizing the books Traveling Light by Max Lucado and a Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23 by Philip Keller. We will examine Old Testament and New Testament passages that emphasize what it means for us to be the sheep who hear the voice of the Good shepherd. Prayer, obedience and relationships within the flock will be special themes upon which the class focuses. Adults of all ages are welcome to this class taught by Associate Pastor Ken Atchison.

“The Gifts of the Spirit” (9:30am)

Christian Seekers meet in Room 101
Caring, support, prayer, study and ministry together are the themes for these energetic Boomers as they navigate life together, caring for children, aging parents and themselves. They enjoy great fellowship over meals, at socials and events at area attractions. This class is led by class members. They are currently studying the lives and traits of “overcomers” in the Christian faith.

God's Design in Love and Intimacy (9:30am)

Young Adult Community meet in the  Multipurpose Room
The Young Adult Community at Kenwood Baptist church seeks to be a community of maturing, joyful disciples of Jesus Christ who live by his word, convert the lost, and utilize their gifts and resources for the glory of God. Our new topical Bible study is called: “God’s design in love and intimacy.” We will be engaged by a biblical vision of what it means to be created as male and female. We will build our vision of why God created us with such a profound capacity to know Him. We will seek to understand God’s design for physical intimacy – as a single person, in a marriage context, and in courtship. We will spend a few weeks on how this part of our lives goes wrong and discover God’s power of grace, forgiveness, and restoration. This session concludes by looking at God’s ongoing call to obedience and defines what actions demonstrate faithfulness and rebelliousness.

A Study of Second Samuel (11:00am)

Bridges of Faith meet in Room 101
The “middle years” can be a rocky road or a road to success. Careers, kids, spouse or lack thereof, can take you to great heights and depths. Through honest sharing and a heart to help each other this group seeks to build friendships that will last for eternity. This class is currently studying the book of Second Samuel under the leadership of class members Patrick and Carlene Naughton.

Heaven (11:00am)

Ministries in Motion (M&M) meet in Room 211 (Parlor)
Join this group of active older adults who enjoy fellowship together as well as service throughout the church. These dedicated volunteers are currently studying Randy Alcorn’s book, Heaven.
