Vic Gordon, Senior Pastor
Dr. Vic Gordon was called to serve as Kenwood’s sixth Senior Pastor in September of 2009. Pastor Vic loves God and dearly loves his work as a pastor he has brought a tremendous amount of enthusiasm, education and experience to Kenwood Baptist Church. His heart for the body of Christ at Kenwood is for it to become a group of people who show their love for God through worship and ministry, who work to grow spiritually and who make prayer a priority in their church’s life.
Vic is originally from Ft. Dodge, Iowa and was nurtured by his parents into a relationship with Christ. He then attended Stanford University and later received his Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. He was ordained by American Baptist Churches USA in 1975 and received his Ph. D. in New Testament Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1979.
Vic has been married to his wonderful wife and marvelous life companion, Sue, for 36 years. Vic shares that Sue has been a fantastic and faithful ministry partner and she has served and supported the ministry that God has given them in every way. Sue and Vic have four children; Joshua married to Linette, Nathan, Jonathan, and Joy.
Pastor Vic has a heart for missions and especially Haiti where he has served as a teaching professor at the Haitian Baptist Seminary in Limbe since 1991. In addition to his teach role he currently serves as American Baptist Church’s International Ministries Special Assistant to Haiti.
Vic loves sports of all types and enjoys cheering for his favorite college teams. He is also an avid handball player and has gotten involved in the local Handball player’s group.
